Of Lions, Tigers and PlumbingPlumbers go everywhere and eventually end up inside everyone's home or business office. This can make for some interesting service calls. One day after being dispatched for a water main leak, our guy called back to the shop: "You gotta see this place! They have lions, tigers, reptiles and everything!" We checked it out, and he had gone to Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary, in Phelan. We didn't even know there was a local sanctuary for big cats and other exotic animals. We did some looking, and found out that they were actually famous and had appeared on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. The Almquist family had put everything they had into caring for abused and neglected wildlife, to the point that their own home was falling apart. They not only got a home makeover, but also a visitor center building and new enclosures for the animals.
Our plumber finished the job and made it back in one piece.
